In your role as the Assistant Human Resources Manager you will have duties pertaining to both Jumeirah Carlton Tower and also Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel, located in Belgravia village and features 87 luxurious bedrooms, including 14 private suites, all finished to the highest specifications. The intimate and elegant Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel is a sister property to Jumeirah Carlton Tower, located just across the road.
As the Assistant Human Resources Manager you will assist the Human Resources Manager/Director in the smooth and efficient running of the Human Resources Department, through professional planning and administration of personnel and training activities in accordance with the hotel's objectives and adhering to the company and hotel's policies and procedures.
You will be responsible for supervising the HR team in the provision of added value HR excellence that makes Jumeirah a preferred employer whilst demonstrating commercial awareness.
Your responsibilities will include:
* supervision, direction and support of the HR team in order to increase knowledge and share best practice
* assist in driving the continuous improvement agenda with focus on attracting and retaining talent and building management HR capability
* handle any employee relations matters seeking advice and ensuring all such matters are reported to the Human Resources Manager/Director
* counsel colleagues on career prospects, job related issues, disciplinary procedures, performance management and ensuring all such matters are reported to the Human Resources Manager/Director
* Assist in the annual HR budget process and ensure the HR P&L is monitored and managed
* oversee the recruitment process of colleagues, ensuring compliance with immigration laws and being responsible for recruitment of Department Head and Executive positions in accordance with recruitment requirements ensuring company policy is adhered to
* maintain awareness of legislative changes and that its impact is communicated to management
* assist in Learning & Development activities where required
Skills
To move into this position, it is essential that you draw on your knowledge gained through your Human Resources Management degree or equivalent and it is desirable if you are either CIPD qualified or Level A and B qualified in British Psychological Society or equivalent.
You will also be required to draw on your previous experience in a generalist HR role and within a service industry. Your experience will demonstrate recruitment and employee relations expertise. It will be viewed favourably if you also have experience working in hospitality and with training, change management and supervisory experience.
This role is offered on a Maternity Cover, fixed term basis to commence 16th November 2009 and tentatively finish September 2010.
