Our client is a leading technology company in the financial markets sector. They are now establishing a new business in the Kingdom of Bahrain and are looking for a Clearing & Depository Manager. The parent company is undergoing significant growth and expansion and the role will report directly to the Head of Clearing & Depository.
The role will include the following responsibilities:
• Managing the day-to-day activities relating to clearing, settlement & depository for a multi asset product Exchange.
• Work as part of a team handling the clearing, settlement & depository functions, collateral management etc.
• To work in shifts and weekends (Fridays & Saturdays).
• Address queries from market participants relating to clearing, settlement & depository.
• Liaise & define the clearing & depository requirements for the exchange in conjunction with the software providers, business development team and the Central Bank of Bahrain
• Identify opportunities for business process improvement and drive through change.
Provide accurate and timely M.I.S. reporting to senior management on a daily basis.
Requirements:
• Minimum 2-7 years in the exchange environment or banking with relevant experience in operations, preferably clearing & settlement.
• Must be fully aware of the markets and exchange environment in a cash and derivatives industry.
• Good general industry knowledge relating to principles of trading, clearing, settlement, global custody and depository.
• Strong control focus with a developed understanding of key risks and controls associated with members and the positions they can hold.
• Understanding of span based margins.
• Willingness to learn multiple platforms is a must. Great opportunity to stretch and enhance skills.
