My client is a recognised leader in the execution and delivery of large scale engineering and construction projects throughout Oman and the Middle East. The range of projects executed covers oil and gas, petrochemicals, commercial and residential complexes, educational institutions, industrial structures, ports and harbours, hospitals, stadiums, water retaining structures, monuments, water line and sewer line networks, bridges, roads, dams, electro-mechanical works, HVAC systems, power transmission lines, substations, maintenance of hospitals, R.O. Plants, water line and sewerage networks.
The primary responsibility of this crucial role is to direct and control all commercial and contractual matters relating to multiple projects across the assigned Business Units.
• Technical expert in commercial, contract and risk management
• Ability to identify commercial opportunities and manage them through to conclusion.
• Experience reviewing and negotiate multiple contracts, subcontracts and consortia agreements; usually managing 4-5 at one time
• Able to mitigate and maximise commercial risk within a large contracting portfolio
• Manage all aspects of claims management
• Full understanding of GCC Contractual Law
• Take responsibility for P&L, revenue collection and high-level cost control.
• Ensure effective cash flow management for entire Business Unit project portfolio (approx. USD 300 million)
Requirements:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & COMPETENCIES
• Minimum of 10-15 years Commercial Management experience; with at least 5 years at a leadership level in contracting company
• Degree in Engineering, Commerce or Law
• Strong QS background and experience managing a team of QS professionals
• Extensive contracts negotiation and claims management experience with the ability to deliver win-win solutions to multiple projects
• Exposure to large engineering and construction projects; valued above USD 20 million
• Outstanding communication, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop proactive and professional working relationships
• Ability to resolve problems independently and operate efficiently under pressure
• Demonstrated ability to drive change through the organization and proven track record of leading multi-discipline commercial teams
QUALIFICATIONS
• Engineering degree from recognized, accredited institution.
• QS Qualified
COMPENSATION
The compensation package offered to the successful candidate is negotiable and will be based upon his/her relevant experience and overall suitability. However, the following is indicative of the total package. |
