DWP Bahrain is currently accepting applications for Design Director Position in our Architecture Department to lead a team of talented international designers on some of the highest profile civic and commercial projects in the Region.
The Design Director of Architecture Reports To:
Managing Director and Partner/Head of Middle East Division
Responsibilities:
Balances the goals and values of DWP branding and design standards with those of our clients while creating opportunities for creativity and quality.
Must be budget conscious, periodic reviews of documentation process while protecting DWP from liabilities and risks.
Demonstrates strong recruitment and staffing ability to build teams based on the needs of each phase of the project.
Ability to organize and manage a large team of designers and CAD specialists
Develops and maintains a Project Schedule for each project.
Prepares services agreement in conjunction with Managing Director and Regional Partner.
Serves as primary contact with client and consultants.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
A Master's Degree or Professional Degree in Architecture or related field or equivalent experience.
Applicant must be hold a recognized Architect's license in any of the following regions, US, Europe, Middle East, Asia, etc.
15 years or more of experience in the field, 8 years of relevant project experience and at least 3 years of experience in Middle East or International projects.
Exceptional design and project management skills in various sized projects: Hotels, Resorts, Civic Centers, Urban Planning of City / Large Development Masterplan, Government Buildings, Museums, Convention Centers, Auditorium, Shopping Districts, Shopping Centers, Public Space etc.
Shows knowledge of all phases of design: concept, schematic, design, documentation, tender, on-site observations, shop drawing approvals, admin and compliance checks.
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of architectural design, drafting, detailing, building materials, building codes, construction techniques and costs.
Demonstrates general knowledge in programming, site planning, civil, structural, lighting and MEP.
Very Strong communications skills: analytical, presentation, verbal and written. Building excellent client relationships is essential to our company.
Must be mindful of regional customs and cultural norms which affect design of public spaces, and space programming in the Middle East
Shows willingness to adapt to business standards and competitive design field in the Middle East
Familiar with Sustainable Design methodologies and systems for water use, passive cooling, materials. LEED certification or equivalent is a plus but not required |
