We require a motivated and experienced Finance Manager to head up our clients finance function.
You will work closely with the management team of our client in Libya, as well as the Group Financial Controller to develop the future direction of the business, and will have a key role in the achievement of profitable growth for the company.Your contribution will be both strategic and operational, and includes as a priority the efficient running and control of the finance function.Improving the profit and cash performance of our clients project in this region will be key measures of success.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Providing the local management team and project teams with the commercial, financial and risk management assistance it requires in the estimation and management of, and reporting on, all projects
• Meeting Group reporting requirements for monthly financial and other info, cash flow, budgets and other ad hoc information
• Ensuring that the Finance function is resourced effectively and efficiently and that its employees are operating in an efficient, effective and control conscious manner.This will cover the following activities: accounts payable and receivable, payroll, project accounting, cash flow, bonding and treasury management, budgeting, forecasting and planning, Group reporting.Many of these functions will be supported from head office in the UK.
• Ensuring that the cash and foreign exchange are appropriately managed in line with Group policies and requirements
• Working with the Commercial team to enhance linkages to company Cost Control System for projects
• Assist in the implementation of Group management information systems
• Overseeing financial compliance, including all aspects of taxation and company law, in each of the jurisdictions under the control of our client.
• Dealing with annual audits (both local and British) and full responsibility for local compliance in accounting, currency control, taxation and statutory returns etc
• Costs and overhead control and commercial input.
• Working to meet Group KPI objectives in the areas of working capital, finance services provided etc.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience:
• Qualified Accountant and member of an internationally recognised accountancy body.
• Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience with at least 2 years in an international capacity.
• Knowledge of IFRS and project reporting.
• Commercial approach.
Selection Criteria / Person Specification:
• Multinational Experience, preferably Africa.
• Prior experience in a similar role.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Previous experience in the construction industry would be an advantage.
• Good written and oral command of the English language is essential. |
