Under broad direction, the incumbent will assist in the configuration, installation, repairing, and troubleshooting of all related information Technology equipment, peripherals, and software. The incumbent is expected to perform the following:
• Install, configure, repair, and troubleshoot computer software with MAC and Windows Operating Systems. Software packages are listed but not limited to Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Microsoft Office 2003, 2007, and 2008, Symantec Antivirus & Security Suite, AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, Paper Port, and others
• Install, configure, repair, and troubleshoot computer hardware and peripherals according to existing processes and procedures
• Install, configure, support, and troubleshoot IT Network & Infrastructure such as switches, servers, firewall, cabling, printers, and others
• Administer system updates and upgrades as advised by Corporate IT or as required for the entire node environment
• Provide new end-user training for range of corporate software and applications as required. Such applications are backup, email, server home drives, and others
• Daily support of end-users in Dubai, Sharjah, and others. (Travel is required)
• Ability to manage backups and disaster recovery for all network nodes. Familiarity with computer image backup, recovery restore from backup, and others
• Maintain accurate inventory records and perform end-user relocations and returns of equipment to stock following existing procedures
• Implement support and security policies and procedures throughout the daily support functions to include educating end-users on the proper use of IT systems
• Adherence and enforcement of IT equipment security, company safety standards, and software licensing procedures
• Perform own work and provide assistance to others as directed
Requirements:
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree related to Information Technology, with minimum of two years experience in associated field working with Microsoft and Apple products. Incumbent is expected to posses the following:
• Must be proficient in English and able to read, write, and comprehend on a professional level
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with Apple, and Microsoft Office Applications
• Must be customer oriented and able to deal with an average of 20 customers or more daily
• Self motivated and able to perform assigned tasks with minimum supervision
• Administrative skills are necessary for the job
Additional Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• At least 4 years IT experience preferred
• Familiarity with Cisco Networks is a plus
• Must be able to obtain a Dubai Drivers License
• Must be eligible to obtain a residency for Dubai
