Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering or scientific discipline in a global business unit on a project or program. Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to project engineering. Makes decisions independently concerning problems within the discipline on the project. Represents the discipline on the project and with the client to resolve technical questions and as required to coordinate work.
• Responsible for the design and drafting activities on a medium size project in an engineering/design discipline.
• Supervises and provides technical direction to subordinate designers and drafters.
• Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to upper management.
• Reviews and approves key engineering drawings and calculations and bid summaries.
• Requires a broad knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria pertinent to the particular discipline.
Main Duties:
Review of instrumentation & controls designs prepared by design sub-consultants and design-build contractors.
Review of shop drawings and contractor submittals.
Review of field change proposals.
Supervision of technicians.
Coordination of design issues with Lead Discipline Engineers from other design disciplines.
Presentation of project design issues to client, facility end-users, and outside agencies.
Evaluation of construction tenders and change order technical and cost proposals.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirement
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
Experience:
Extensive relevant experience; some experience on airport projects. Experience with contract management. Experience in supervising other Engineers.
Communication skills:
Written and oral (advanced level)
Computer Literacy:
MS Office suite; Acrobat 7.0 and higher
(advanced level)
Technical Skills:
Knowledge and experience with instrumentation & controls design of large buildings, fuel handling, and utility systems, including airport projects. Knowledge of relevant international codes and standards (advanced level). |
