1. Provides technical expertise in own area of work and experience. Makes interpretations and correlations of basic data as
required to make a complete and comprehensive analysis.
2. Assists Science Specialists and Senior Scientists in reviewing and interpreting analytical data.
3. Works as a team member, under general supervision of a responsible scientist, in developing procedures for obtaining
technical data.
4. Develops procedures and methods as required for inclusion in the Laboratories Analytical Methods Manual.
5. Performs highly complex analytical tasks requiring many steps, through planning and/or use of advanced and sophisticated
equipment and instrumentation.
6. Performs complex sampling tasks which may require several steps and extra safety precautions, and may need on-site
analytical work performed.
7. Prepares comprehensive reports for discussion with his work director, utilizes computers frequently, to assist in data
manipulation.
8. Serves as a technical reference for other non-professional laboratory technicians.
9. Assists in training of non-professionals, especially in his area of experience. With supervision, consults with and advises
people requiring help with specific technical problems.
10. Observes safety rules, reports hazards to his supervisor and acts on them as necessary.
11. Performs other miscellaneous duties as directed by his supervisor.

Requirements:
Dip/Degree in Chemical Engineering. B. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 12 YEARS
Formal testing by the Laboratories Department or by its designated agent, and certification of job competency specified for Laboratory Technician Specialist.
C. Twelve years industrial experience.
D. Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
E. Valid driver's license and ability pass requirements for operating company vehicles if driving is essential to carrying out
assigned duties

Acquired adequate training & experience in basic and advanced lab testing methods of drilling fluids. Active in taking work
related courses and attending technical events. Have previous experience in providing training to junior employees. Must have
diploma or higher in Petroleum Engg, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with lab and field experience in the area of drilling
fluids testing
