Maintain and restore the quality of power supply by monitoring electric parameters. Ensuring safe, reliable and economic operation of company power systems.
Power Dispatch:
X Responsible for the economic dispatch of the company generating resources through the automatic generation control system (AGC). Economically maintaining the generation equivalent to the system load. Schedule power exchange with SEC, while ensuring security and safety of company power system and 380 KV interconnection with SEC.
Frequency Maintenance:
X Maintain 115KV, 34.5KV and 13.8KV voltage levels within prescribed limits by monitoring and controlling the system MVAR switching of reactors and transformer voltage tap settings. Monitor equipment parameters such as MW, MVAR current, temperature, SF6 gas pressure, cable oil pressure, transformer oil level etc as per the checklist to ensure equipment are operated within prescribed operating limits.
Operation Procedures:
X Supervise the implementation of the generation function of the power plant to ensure deliverables are accomplished efficiently in most productive, balanced and cost effective manner. Maintain system frequency by keeping generation in equilibrium with the load. Assist LDC Jeddah in maintaining system frequency by keeping generation equal to load, actual power exchange equal to scheduled exchange and providing power assistance to SEC on request from LDC Jeddah
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
University degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum Experience:
X 8 years ¦ relevant operational or maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment.
X 3 - 5 years experience of power dispatch operations.
X Previous power generation experience is an advantage.
X Previous supervisory/man-management experience.
