The selected Resident Engineer will therefore need to have a good background in planning, to be able to continuously advise the contractor on the adequacy of his resources. Monitoring and handling the contractor.
Liaise with other Authorities.
Advise on contractual and construction matters.
Liaise with Department and approve Contractor's submissions.
Coordinate forward planning. Be fully conversant with the Contract Terms and Conditions.
Implement the terms and conditions of Contract. Generally supervise, review, monitor and report on progress.
Liaise with all parties for site safety.
Convene and chair regular site meetings.
Issue additional drawings etc. as required.
Provide technical leadership to his team.
Coordinate and monitor activities of his team.
Ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of records according to ISO 9001.
Maintain awareness of contracts financial status.
Give final approval to works and arrange handover.

Requirements:
Degree in Civil Engineering with minimum fifteen (15) years of strong experience with at least the last five (5) years of those as Resident Engineer on major road infrastructure projects preferably in the Gulf region. Should have a good background in planning and monitoring.

Candidate whose experience has been predominantly with private consultancy firms is highly preferred.
