1.1 General Safety Responsibilities
1.1.1 Wear required PPE and follow safe work practices at all times.
1.1.2 Report, investigate and monitor near misses/incidents in area of control, conduct and participate in all activities relating removal of hazards in your work area.
1.1.3 Assist with identification of hazards arising from activities in work area, ensuring that all are communicated to relevant personnel in order to maintain a hazard free work area.
1.1.4 Actively participate in implementation of Company Safety Policy by example and communication to subordinates.
1.1.5 Provide an open means by which subordinates/sub-contractors can communicate safety concerns, when possible action the items and when not ensure these are passed to personnel/sections for further actions.
1.1.6 Identifying and evaluating potential/existing safety problems, suggesting solutions and recommending suitable corrective measures.
1.2 General Responsibilities
1.2.1 Following all Governmental and Company rules and management directives, regulations and policies that relate to health, safety and the meeting of departmental missions and objectives.
1.2.2 Ensuring the requirements of the Company's Quality System are complied with.
1.2.3 Actively participate in the implementation of the Management safety policy.
1.2.4 Identifying and evaluating quality problems, suggesting solutions and recommending suitable corrective measures.
3. DUTIES PERFORMED
3.1. Manages the direction of all safety activities of the plant and safety staff personnel to ensure they are meeting the Company's Safety Management Plan.
3.2 Approves the Accident Statistics to ensure the correct injury and near-miss information is provided to Management.
3.3 Participates in Company's Safety committee as Secretary of the committee to ensure organization of meeting and expert guidance on safety issue.
3.4 Revises the Safety Standards to ensure timely updating and that meets international safety standards.
3.5 Directs the Contractor Safety Program to ensure contractor have an equally compatible safety program.
3.6 Evaluates Safety training Programs to ensure technical and regulatory training materials are meeting Company's requirements.
3.7 Participates in Process Hazard Analysis (Hazop) to advise as a team member on technical safety requirements in the conduct of the PHA.
3.8 Administrates the Safety Stock Planning to ensure the appropriate safety equipment is maintained and meets Company and plant requirements.
3.09 Participates in Site Inspections to identify unsafe conditions not meeting COmpany's physical plant safety requirements.
3.10 Participates in serious to major Accident Investigations to advise and assist managers in conducting a systematic investigation based on COmpany's requirements to obtain the root cause and adequate recommendations.
3.11 Prepares Annual Report .
3.12 Coordinates and participate in the Site/Plant Safety Acceptance Team to ensure an adequate and qualified safety presentation involved in plant inspection, commissioning and acceptance.
3.13 Writes Employee Appraisal to provide guidance for section employees on their conduct of work and areas of improvements.
3.14 Conducts General Safety Training to facilitate the training of safety section staff in presenting the training.
3.15 Develops specific Safety Training Programs for special plant applications to ensure the content and structure meets plant requirements.
Requirements:
. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
7.1 University degree in engineering, preferably in Safety Engineering.
7.2 Experience:
7.2.1 Minimum of at least five years experience in the field of safety and risk control.
7.2.2 Should have the capacity for the management of all safety staff personnel.
7.2.3 Should have the functional level of approving all administrative and documentation functions of the safety section.
7.2.4 Should posses the working capability with the management staff of contractors to ensure the effectiveness of their safety program.
7.2.5 Should have the initiative in devising useful safety training programs for all company employees and contractors whenever is necessary.
7.2.6 Ideally would have petrochemicals/refineries Plants experience.
7.2.7 Spoken and written English fluent. |
