The country of Qatar is currently experiencing an economic boom in economy and industry and has placed an emphasis on a major drive toward development of infrastructure services and construction of projects on a national scale. Our client, the leading government agency for infrastructure development and project management, is growing their specialist teams and now look to appoint a Drainage Operation Safety Engineer to develop, implement and maintain all things pertaining to safety on-site, and a Senior Health & Safety Manager / Expert to supervise safety managers and officers on site and a Traffic Safety Engineer provide traffic safety expertise and carry out crash analysis, crash reduction studies, safety assessments and safety audits.
Your duties will include:
Implementing and monitoring the Department's "Safety and Health Policy", "Safety Manual" and related work procedures based on the safety strategies adopted through the firm's Quality, Safety and Environmental (QSE) regulations;
Driving the development, implementation and maintenance of safety for the Traffic, Operations and Maintenance Department;
Verifying, checking and ensuring all facilities, machinery and safety equipments is in working order and meets Safety regulations;
Liaising with the Quality, Safety and Environment (QSE) Department to ensure awareness of safety regulations and standards and implementing them accordingly;
Supervision of Safety within the work environment and observing the systemic safety of the working people, equipment and plants are ensured;
Perform regular Safety Audits, and provide recommendations on corrective actions;
Creating and enhancing Safety culture, and developing and conducting or arranging various safety related training classes;
Reviewing and preparation of the work zone safety plans and traffic diversion plans;
Carrying out safety audits at the design, construction, and post-construction stages;
Development and maintenance of road safety management system and safety-related policies;
Investigate causes of industrial accidents or injuries and develops solutions to minimize or prevent recurrence; Conducting plant or area survey to determine safety levels for exposure to materials and conditions;
Conducting regular monitoring/measuring of Hazardous Gases level (ie.: H2S, Chlorine and etc.), and compiling, analysing, and interpreting statistical data concerning occupational illness and accidents.

Requirements:
A degree in Engineering Civil / Health / Environmental from a recognised University;
A minimum of 12 years industrial experience, preferably in Operation and Maintenance industries, with a water / sewage treatment or traffic safety base and a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in safety management ideally on major highway or roads projects;
Must possess excellent working knowledge of industry practice / safety / quality management systems;
Possess the ability to read and enforce working drawings and related specifications;
Must be capable of reviewing and implementing QA/QC policies and procedures;
Computer literacy;
Excellent communication skills essential.
Membership of a known safety association i.e. NIBOSH;
Hold valid certificates in First Aids / Hazardous Assessment / Environmental Protection, such as OHSAS18000 or equivalent. |
