Trading Desk Officer

Our client is a leading technology company in the financial markets sector who are establishing a new business in the Kingdom of Bahrain. There is currently a need to recruit an experienced Trading Desk Officer. The parent company is undergoing significant growth and expansion and the role will report directly to the head of Exchange Operations.

The role within the Trading department of Exchange Operations will include:
• Responsibility for Exchange Administration and Market controls
• Monitoring Trading activity
• Preparing announcements to the Market regarding products, changed market timings, etc
• Squaring off positions on behalf of Trading Members
• Data entry relating to set-up of Members and new products
• Answering queries from Trading Members
• Updating CRM
• Contribute to the completion and improvement of business processes and internal procedures
• Prepare accurate and timely M.I.S. reporting to senior management on a daily and weekly basis

Requirements:
• Minimum 2-7 years in an operational department with a financial institution; previous interaction or experience with exchanges is an important asset
• Must be aware of the exchange environment and capital markets
• Good general industry knowledge relating to basic principles of trading derivatives, bonds & equities
• Strong control focus with a developed understanding of key risks and controls associated with Members
• Willingness to learn multiple platforms is a must.
• Please note that this position will be working the evening/weekend shift starting at 5pm through to the close of trading finishing at around 1am. The exact shifts will be worked around the candidate. The initial training period will be conducted during normal office hours before going onto shift pattern.
